Lighthouses

If lighthouses weren't automated now I honestly think i wouldn't mind being a lighthouse keeper. Obviously, I have never experienced it before but its essentially living by the sea with two fellow human being, if I were able to tolerate said people and even if i enjoyed their company i think that would be a marvelous life. Albeit I would require an internet connection and in this day and age ( when light house keepers are no longer needed)I'm pretty sure i'd have an internet connection there. If not an internet connection then the very least a few dozen books and some ambiance music, preferably The Best of Enya but this at the very minimum for luxury goods. I wouldn't be able to travel as much as i would like to new lands and I wouldn't be making much money but i think id be quite content admiring the area in which I'm living in and just absorbing all that nature has to offer and being in a lighthouse by the sea i would see a considerable bit of mother natures wrath as well. It should be stated that I'm referring to a lighthouse on the coast of Scotland, well that is what i always picture when thinking of lighthouses, near small towns which can be seen in the distance and the light house close to a cliff with roaring water just a few hundred feet away and the sky -- grey with a storm brewing.

Cold as the northern winds
In December mornings,
Cold is the cry that rings
From this far distant shore.

My light shall be the moon
And my path - the ocean.
My guide the morning star
As I sail home to you.
